3 Reasons Why Tabletop Publishers Should Join Meta’s New Threads App to Market Their Board Games

Facebook parent company, Meta today launched new app, Threads to rival Twitter.

The new app is a text-based platform that integrates with Meta’s other massively popular app, Instagram and functions very similarly to Twitter.

The board games community has already embraced it, so here are 3 reasons why you should join:

1 – The tabletop gaming community already uses the app

As mentioned above, the tabletop games community has already flocked to the platform, with hundreds of influencers having easily made the jump due to the easy set-up enabled by the Instagram app. A golden rule of marketing is to identify where your audience spends their time and Threads could shape up to be one of those places!

2 – Secure your account

You’ll want to make sure you secure your account before someone else takes the best user name for your company. Threads makes this very easy by allowing you to import your Instagram username, profile picture and even follow everyone you’re already following on the Instagram, all during the stream lined set up process for Threads. We set up our account in a matter of minutes! With everyone you follow getting a notification that you have followed them on Threads, this will again put you top of mind for other people on the new platform.

3 – Take advantage of the hype

Similar to the above point, there will be a lot of people using the app over the coming days and weeks. This is a perfect opportunity for you to post several times about your company joining the app, as well as promote your games. This will help keep you top of mind in both influencer’s and player’s eyes. What’s more, as it’s a new platform, you may be one of the first few publishers to join, which could give you a head start when people are actively looking for board game related accounts to follow on the platform in order to make their Threads experience better!
